Secret de Valmy White 2022 75 cl

IGP Côtes Catalanes / Producer

49,00€

Just like the Secret de Valmy Rouge, the Secret de Valmy Blanc is the result of a blend of grape varieties from the southwest combined with Mediterranean soil and climate.

This white wine has a brilliant pale gold color with some highlights.
On the nose, you can detect a blend of aromas of very ripe white fruits.
On the palate, you’ll find the harmonious blend of grape varieties from the Southwest, which bring freshness, power, smoothness, and a long finish.

Serve at 10–12°C with white meat, fish, or seafood.

In its very first year of production, the 2022 vintage of Secret de Valmy Blanc was awarded a gold medal at the Terre de Vins competition.

The bottle comes with a wooden gift box, making it the perfect gift for loved ones.

Description

The vines

  • The plots were created after clearing a small hill overlooking the cellar and the rest of the vineyard.
  • These are small plots of about half a hectare. The choice was made of high densities, as in the largest French vineyards of Champagne, Bordeaux or Burgundy.

Winemaking and aging

  • The start of the harvest is decided when the tasting of the berries reveals complete maturity.
  • The grapes are vinified in new 225L barrels and 550L jars.
  • These are generally the last VALMY harvests, at the beginning of October.
  • The harvest, transported in approximately 15kg crates, is sorted manually on arrival at the cellar, then destemmed and lightly crushed.
  • They are monitored daily through tastings provided by the cellar master. Aged for around 9 months in new French oak barrels. The final blend is decided after a tasting where only the best barrels are selected. After bottling, the wine is aged for 3 years in the bottle before being marketed.
